Aisha was 8 months pregnant when she arrived at Beth-El. She was scared and as a first-time mother she needed assistance in learning and navigating the complicated healthcare system. The staff at the Center comforted her and helped her as she planned the birth of her son, Mohamed.
The Conde family has had many challenges and goals including learning a new language, finding a home and applying their education toward employment opportunities. Our case management staff provided referrals to language classes and workforce development. At the Center, they have received shelter, food, healthcare, parenting classes and are part of the Beth-El community.
As the Condes reestablished their lives, they have taken advantage of every opportunity given to them and have begun to thrive.
Beth-El Center strives to alleviate homelessness and hunger in the Milford to Guilford shoreline and lower Naugatuck Valley areas through shelter, support services, advocacy and community education in partnership with the faith-based community and in collaboration with the public and private organizations and in collaboration with public and private organizations.
