The Beth-El Center provides hope and opportunity to those in need. We provide basic resources such as food and shelter but more importantly, our programs help empower people toward self sufficiency.

From our Family Program and public soup kitchen to our Outreach and Engagement program, we provide a continuum of services to meet the basic needs of those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in our community.

Emergency Shelter Program
The Beth-El Center Emergency Shelter program provides a welcoming and safe environment in which individuals and families are provided the support that will assist them in moving towards success in housing and employment with the support of community resources.  

Our low-barrier, housing-first approach creates an inclusive space where individuals and families can rebuild their lives, work towards personal goals, and thrive. Our shelter program offers dorm-style living to single men, single women and six individual rooms for families with children.

Community Kitchen
At Beth El Center, we understand that a hot meal is more than sustenance; it's an essential ingredient for building a stronger, more inclusive community. Our Community Kitchen provides two nourishing meals daily to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.

Our meals are crafted with care, offering wholesome, balanced options to ensure that individuals and families receive the nourishment they need.

Outreach and Engagement
Outreach and Engagement program provides supportive, community-based case management services to assist in navigating the emergency shelter system and to ensure access to basic needs for all.

This program focuses on supporting those who are unhoused in our community, living in places not meant for human habitation.

Through skilled interventions and kindness, we build trusting and productive relationships with our clients and work toward permanent housing solutions ... [ more ]


Supportive Housing
In 13 years, no Supportive Housing household has returned to homelessness!

Liberty Pointe apartments (at 85 New Haven Avenue in Milford) are a combination of affordable housing and supportive services for households with a history of chronic homelessness and complex medical needs.

These supportive services are individually designed and provided by a professional case manager who maintains an office in the building.

The case manager works collaboratively with the families and individuals to help them learn and implement the needed skills to access the resources necessary to maintain self-sufficiency while maintaining housing. [ more ]


No Freeze Shelter
The Beth El Center operates a warming center in our Community Kitchen Dining Hall which is open to unsheltered individuals. This is a crucial support and is seen as a lifesaving program in the community.

We not only provide a warm place to escape the cold, but we also offer food and hot beverages to our guests. This program, made possible by donor contributions, offers a safe and welcoming space for vulnerable individuals during the harshest of conditions. [ more ]


Diversion Services
Beth-El Center's Diversion Services support households who are at imminent risk of homelessness or are literally homeless.

We provide shelter diversion services along the Connecticut shoreline from Milford to Madison and in the lower Naugatuck Valley area.
