Building Hope - The New Beth-El Center, Inc.

Register for the 13th Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K

Meet Beth-El Board Member Rachel Merva

How did you get involved with Beth El Center?

As the Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church Missions Chairperson, I've been involved with projects that provide a lot of support for Beth-El.

For years we've been doing a monthly community supper at their Community Kitchen on the fourth Thursday of the month.

We sponsor Beth-El's Trick or Trot 5K and Beth-El is the benefactor for the Super Bowl of Caring that we do every January. It's been a natural fit for me to get more involved in the strategy of the Center so that's when I joined the Board ... [ more ]

Meet Our New Board President Justin Colby

We're pleased to announce Justin Colby as our incoming Beth-El Center Board President, succeeding the great work of our most recent past President, Max Case. Read on to learn more about Justin and his involvement with and plans for the Center:

How did you get involved with Beth-El?
My first exposure to Beth-El was with a community service group I belonged to at Foran High School here in Milford — the Interact Club. We used to volunteer for spaghetti dinners and food drives. Fast forward a few decades, and I have a good friend on the board of the Rape Crisis center here in Milford. I told her I thought being a board member seemed like something I'd love to learn more about, and she told me she had a friend on the Beth-EL board and they were looking to bring in some new faces. Beth-El Center’s New Building Approved by Milford Planning and Zoning

Tuesday, June 18, 2024 - This evening the Milford Planning and Zoning Board unanimously approved Beth-El Center's proposed new operations site at 995 Bridgeport Avenue in Milford. In addition, there were over thirty written letters of support for the project plus fifty supporters who were present at the Planning and Zoning meeting. The Beth-El Center project had no community opposition to the planned expansion, a testament to the positive and trusting relationships built by the Beth-El Center with the community at large ...
